Method · How it works

A senior analyst, in a chat box.

Detrace runs the OSINT loop the same way an experienced analyst does — plan, gather, corroborate, brief. The difference is it does it in seconds, and shows its work.

1 · Plan the investigation

You drop a signal — a username, email, domain, phone, IP, image, or a paragraph of context. Detrace reads the intent, picks an investigative angle, and lays out the questions worth answering before touching any tool.

2 · Pivot across sources

The agent calls live OSINT modules in parallel — WHOIS, DNS, certificate transparency, breach datasets, social platform probes, image reverse-lookup — and pivots whenever one signal opens up another.

3 · Corroborate before claiming

Every claim is graded by source quality and how many independent sources back it. Single-source guesses are flagged; multi-source matches get promoted to "confirmed." You see the chain of evidence, not just the conclusion.

4 · Brief, not blob

The output is a structured brief — Snapshot, per-service tables, pivots, and recommended next moves. Markdown ready to copy into your case notes, or export as Markdown / JSON / CSV.

5 · Refuse what doesn't belong

Detrace refuses doxxing, harassment, stalking, illegal lookups, and anything outside the public OSINT surface. The model is tuned for analysts, journalists, and defenders — not bad actors.
